Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms set out the conditions for using the browser extension “WebPageGazer” (the “Tool”). By installing the Tool you are taken to have agreed to them.

2. How the Tool works

  1. The Tool fetches the web pages you choose, using your own browser, and compares each one against what it fetched last time.
  2. Fetching, comparing and storing all happen on your own device. We do not operate a server for checking pages.
  3. Only if you configure a webhook destination (Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or ntfy) are the detected changes (including the display name and the URL of the page being checked) and notices that a page can no longer be checked sent there.

3. Your responsibility for target sites

Each website you use the Tool to check for changes is a “target site”. Whether checking a given target site is consistent with that site's terms of use, its robots exclusion rules and anything else it sets out, is for you to check.

The Tool is a general-purpose tool, and we have no way of knowing in advance which sites you will point it at. We take no responsibility for that choice.

Please refrain in particular from the following.

4. Consideration for target sites

  1. The Tool enforces a lower bound on how often it will access a site.
  2. By default the Tool fetches the site's robots.txt and follows it. If you disable that, the consequences are yours.
  3. It is designed never to send several requests to the same site at once.

5. Prohibited conduct

When using the Tool you must not:

6. Disclaimer

  1. The Tool is provided as is. We do not warrant that it is fit for any particular purpose, that detection is always accurate, or that it will remain available.
  2. A change may go undetected, for instance because a target site was restructured. The Tool tries to tell you when it can no longer detect changes, but we are not liable for loss arising from a missed detection.
  3. We are not liable for any dispute between you and the operator of a target site.

7. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms where we consider it necessary. A significant change will be announced beforehand, in the Tool or on this site.

8. Price

The Tool is provided free of charge. There is no advertising, no affiliate marketing and no paid tier. You are never asked to pay, and we never hold payment details.

9. Discontinuation

We may stop providing the Tool. If we do, we will announce it on this site beforehand.

Even then, the copy you already have keeps working. Checking and settings are self-contained on your device and do not depend on our servers. Announcements and the version history would no longer be fetched.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

The Tokyo District Court shall be the court of exclusive jurisdiction of first instance for any dispute concerning the Tool.

If you are a consumer and the law of your country or region guarantees you a different court or a different applicable law, this section does not take that away.

11. Who provides this
