Ways to use itKnow about new items in a list

Hear when something new appears in a list.

It checks a list one item at a time: vacancies, homes, second-hand items, flea-market listings and more.
Items it has seen are remembered, so only first appearances are reported.

Sound familiar?

  • The nice apartment was already taken when I found it

  • The flea-market listing had sold by the time I noticed

  • Members-only vacancies only show after I sign in

→ With WebPageGazerIt tells you only about things newly added to the list. What it has seen before doesn’t count as new.

What you get

Items that only moved in the list, or came back after disappearing, are not reported.

Only what is new, gathered together

New items found in one check are sent together in one notification.

Comebacks are not new

Even on lists whose items vary from check to check, what was seen is remembered.

Additions, field by field

Titles, prices and the fields you choose, shown side by side.

Three steps to start

  1. Pick the list

With the list page open, open “Add a monitor” from WebPageGazer on the toolbar, and outline the whole list with “👀 Pick it on the page”.

  2. Choose what you want to know

Under “What you want to know”, choose “Additions, removals and changes, item by item”, and tick “Remember the items seen, and treat only the first sighting as an arrival”.

  3. Check that it reads

When “Check the content” reads the items one by one, press “Add a monitor”.

Good to know

  • Runs only while the browser is open

It works only while your browser is open on your computer. While the browser is closed it pauses, and picks up again when you open it.

  • Every 30 minutes at first

Pages are checked every 30 minutes by default. To go easy on the sites you watch, there is a minimum interval.

  • Skips pages that ask not to be visited

Pages a site asks not to be visited in its robots.txt are not visited (The rules we follow towards the sites).

  • Check the site’s terms yourself

Please check that watching a page doesn’t conflict with that site’s terms.

  • Many sites refuse search-result pages

Many sites ask in robots.txt that their search result pages not be visited. Those pages are not visited.
